Google sketchup Final test

This project was seemingly easy after the the other assignments I had to fight my way through to complete. All in all I can say google sketchup is a pretty cool program and seeing as in the future I plan on studying to be an engineer I might have to utilize it in the future. However, for now I'm glad that we are done using it as a class because i faced some pretty difficult challenges trying to master it.

Google sketchup design exercise 3

The design of this project wasnt especially challenging as much as it was time consuming. I have a pretty good understanding of the tools in Sketchup at this point and I can utilize them to my advantage. Some parts of the project required me to make my own ideas and be resourceful if the outlined ones didn't work for me.

Google Sketchup Exercise 2

This project was more diffcult for me as an individual. I turned it in somewhat late so I didn't receive much help from the teacher. although more or less it did get completed because of my competence and ability to quickly learn new things. Once you understand how the tools in sketchup work then assignments like this become less challenging. JOSEPH ELLISON

Google Sketchup Design exercise 1

This is the first Google sketchup self produced design exercise. Now that I have a better mastery of the tools usable in google sketchup making my own house wasn't that difficult of a task. I might be able to use this program to design a REAL house I'd like to build in the future. JOSEPH ELLISON

Google sketchup Self paced tutorial 2

This is Google sketchup self paced tutorial 1. It walked me through how to construct my own house using the tools i described in google sketchup. I even got to color it!

Google Sketchup Self paced tutorial 1

This is the Google Skethcup introduction. In the the program was 16 tabs that showed me different techniques on how to utilize sketchup to its fullest potential. The first technique was the orbit. This tool allow you to view to project from different points or angles. The next tool was the push or puller. This enabled you to turn you 2d drawings into 3d drawings by bringing them into space and pulling them up or down. The next tool was the panner. This tool, whcih is the least useful in my opinion, allows you to pan your screen back and forth to get a better view of your project. The last tool is the zoom. This tool is self explanatory and allows you to zoom in and out of your project. All of these tools together give you google Sketcgup!

WORDLE POST

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. Wordle is a nice fun to use website because its a creative way to share words and make them more exciting. You can choose your own fonts and style to make it more personal to you.

Good and Bad Website designs

I just read two articles on good and bad website design. They taught me that bad website design could make a person not want to visit your page if it it user unfriendly. It could also make a person not want to re-visit your page if it is difficult to navigate. Some examples of what would make your page user unfriendly or unsightly is if the text is too small to read. If the color of the text and the background match each other making it difficult to read. If the buttons on the site are big and dorky its unattractive. What I personally hate to see is underlined text that is actually not a link. Good website designs are color coordinated text and background. If the website is easy to navigate it makes people enjoy visiting your website. These articles showed me what I can do to improve my website.

Wind Turbine Reflection

From the wind turbine project I learned How to generate my own electricity, which I'm sure is a useful resource. Not only do I know how to make a wind turbine but I understand how it works. It uses the power of wind to turn the wheel generating, hopefully, enough electricty to power another device. Whats even more amazing is that we created these devices to create electricity out of paper! I learned that people who live in flat windy areas use these as a resource to power thier home in some cases.
How wind turbines relate to the technology sectors we've been studying is that it shows how humans have evovled over time. Continually throughout history we have found more and more resourceful ways to make our lives convenient and meet our needs. The wind turbine is a brilliant and helpful way to generate electricity and and is a source for power used by many people in certain areas as an alternative to nucler and fossil fuel powers.

Today I created my first blog and this is the first post on it! What I learned about bloggong was that it makes the web more informative and open. Anybody can have one and they can talk about anything they desire. A blog gives you an opportunity to make your voice be heard by everyone. You can talk about politics, hobbies, sports, music, etc.
It can be a personal diary or it can be an outlet to share news or practice journalism. Millions of people have them and there are more creating them every day like me. You can even design your blog to be more personal to you. You can use it to share photos and events in your life. Most importantly you can use it to stay in touch and engage your friends.
